Emergency Evil

Oh god doctors… there is a topic I’d rather avoid. The thought that my life is in the hands of so many other people… just…ugh! I keep thinking about the guy at Subway, and how when 4:30 rolls around he stops giving a damn whether or not my ingredients are lined up neatly on the bun. He doesn’t care if there is a little extra mayo, or if it will be soggy if I try to save some for later. Because when it comes right down to it, he’s just punching the clock and biding his time until he can go home. For a doctor, working in the E.R. is just part of the job… it’s their time clock and I’m always terrified that it’s my doctor’s 4:30 when they come back to see me.
Maybe it’s because I grew up in a town whose hospital is notorious for it’s ineptitude. Maybe it’s because I have an amazing tendency to get sick a lot… or maybe it’s because doctors truly are evil… regardless… they give me the creeps.

Oh yes, and in case you are keeping score at home, I’m pretty sure this strip is the second “Resident Evil” reference I’ve made so far. To the game… I hate the movies…
