Perhaps my favorite piece of news to come out of the New York Comic Con so far is that both Marvel and Konami will be bringing the classic X-Men arcade to gaming consoles in the near future. The amazingly addicting side-scrolling beat ‘em up from 1992 has been a fan favorite since the day it was released, and with arcades becoming more and more scarce, this game was getting hard to find.

Fans of the game remember that you could play as one of six X-Men: Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, or Dazzler. After slashing and blasting your way through Sentinels and Magneto’s Brotherhood gamers had to head off to Magneto’s Asteroid M to save Professor X and Kitty Pryde.

There really hasn’t been any other details released, or a time when we can expect to see this, but just knowing it’s coming has made my day better.
