After an unbelievably long list of potential candidates, Sony Pictures has made their decision on who will be Hollywood’s next web head. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Josh Hutcherson. Personally, he looks more suited to be an inhabit of middle earth then to put on the iconic tights of Marvel’s biggest hero, but this is Sony doing a superhero movie. Obviously all reasoning has been abandoned a long time ago. I can’t help but wonder why Sony didn’t decide to go for the pageantry of introducing their newest hero at this years San Diego Comicon, but regardless, here he is.

Now it should be mentioned that with the reboot of the Spider-Man movie franchise, they are in fact putting Parker back in high school (where he should have been this whole time.) So with that in mind, I guess if you squint hard enough and assume that the camera adds twenty cheek pounds, I could see Josh as a Romita era Peter Parker. Hutcherson, who was in the less the well received “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” won the director over with his acting skills. Hopefully he can win the comic fans over as well. I’m not saying he is going to do a bad job, honestly I have little idea just who he is, but Sony has a pretty bad track record with “Spidey” films and lets just same I’m cynical. The next big chore should be the casting of “The Lizzard” . I will keep you up to date when that event does happen.
