When I heard that Marvel would be bringing back Eric Masterson and the Thunderstrike comic I had, well. mixed emotions at best. I never really cared for the comic in the 90′s when it was at it’s peak, in fact I thought Thunderstrike embodied just what was wrong with comics in the 90′s. A large mix of constant renovation and shiny covers to make each issue as collectible as possible.

However after talking with many of you about it, the idea of bringing back an “everyman” hero with family issues like Masterson is something that could play out well and is worth a revisit. So with all of that in mind, here is Marvel’s official press release for the upcoming mini-series by the great Tom DeFalco and the VERY underrated Ron Frenz.
