Mark Millar announced the launch of Kapow Comic Con this morning which will debut in London April 9th and 10th, 2011. In an interview with Empire, Millar says that,  “The idea behind Kapow! is to bring the San Diego experience to Central London.”  Some of the star power already include John Romita Jr., Dave Gibbons, Paul Cornell, Brian Bolland, Frank Quitely, Olivier Coipel,  Andy Diggle, Bryan Hitch, Jock, Brendan McCarthy, Steve Dillon, Adi Granov, John McCrea, Leinil Francis Yu and more! The show will feature expert panels and events, including the Stan Lee Awards, “a tribute to a man who, along with Jack Kirby, is the most significant and influential comic book creator the world has ever known,” says Millar. “He’s our Walt Disney. We wanted to honour him with a big international ceremony. This is the comic-book Oscars…”

More details, including a schedule, will be released February. Tickets are already on sale, and if you buy before December 31st, you will be entered into a drawing for your name and likeness to appear in an issue of Kick-Ass 2.  A weekend pass is £25 ($39.90 USD) with Saturday and Sunday single day passes for £15 ($23.34 USD) and VIP Passes for £175 ($272.27 USD).
