News came in today from Turner Broadcasting Chairman and CEO Phil Kent during the Time Warner Investor Showcase that, DC’s Green Lantern will be getting the animated series treatment on Cartoon Network. Obviously this early in the game, details simply don’t exist yet. What we do know is that “Green Lantern” movie is set for a June 2011 release, and that the animated series should come the year following.

Since the programming will air on Cartoon Network, I’m expecting to get word that the same production crew behind “Batman: Brave and the Bold”, will be taking over the “Green Lantern” duties, but there has been no official news yet. This will mark the first ever solo series for Green Lantern.
