ECCC Wrap Up
It’s odd really. The whole time I was at Emerald City all I could think about was wanting to share how amazing the show was with everyone that couldn’t attend. Howeverm now that it’s time to actually try and do that, I’m at a loss for words. I mean, how many different ways can you say “phenomenal”? Everyone, from the exhibitors, to the other artists to (and especially) the fans, were great!
I have to admit, this was my first time behind the table of a show, and although I’ve been to ECCC several times in the past, it really is the only large show I’ve ever been to. So I will admit in advance that this may be the viewpoint of a “homer” but damn! I can’t imagine a con being better then this. Everyone seemed to be legitimately thrilled to be there.
I owe a special thank you to all of you fans that not only took the time to check out my table, but to introduce yourself. It was so nice to finally be able to put some faces behind the avatars that I’ve been talking with over the past year. Also I just have to put this out there; hearing how much some of you enjoy the comic and my work was the greatest high a person can feel. Honestly, I do this comic for free because I love to do it and I love to make people laugh, and knowing that I’m actually achieving that… well I’m still beaming from the experience.
I want to give a special thanks to; Sam, Chris, Cara, Miki, Lar, Brian, Sohmer, Dave, Dan Mendoza, Amanda Hallbeck and Raven Gregory. You all made my first con experience extra special.
Oh and one more thing, if you were among the attendees that wanted to get one of the prints but weren’t able to, I do still have some available. If you would like one you can send me an email through our contact page and I will set you up with a Paypal order. The prints will also be available through the site’s store, but I’m not exactly sure when that will go live.
I look forward to seeing you all back here in Seattle this time next year.
