Could “True Blood’s” Stephen Moyer be Marvel’s Next Doctor Doom?
Last year Fox (yes sadly they still own the rights) had mentioned that they had the intention of rebooting the “Fantastic Four” film franchise. Since Fox made this announcement any word on the upcoming movie has been, well non-existent until recently.
Word has it that Stephen Moyer, best known for his role as Bill Compton on HBO’s “True Blood” has been offered the role of Victor Von Doom. Now this rumor is still unconfirmed, but there is still some positive news to take away from their offer. In the pitch for Doom, Fox mentioned that this time around Dr. Doom will be a master of the mystic arts and in fact be the ruler of Latveria (NOT A DAMN NEW YORK HI-RISE!).
The other cast rumors have been scarce but so far, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Adrien Brody (God save them if they cast him in this…) are rumored to be up for the role of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic). Sadly it is believed that Brody may have the edge at this point, because of the good showing in “Predators”.
Amber Heard from “The Pineapple Express” fame and Alice Eve could be filling in the invisible suit of Sue Storm and up-and-comer Kevin Pennington could be Fox’s next Human Torch.
The new “Fantastic Four” film (rumored to be named “Fantastic Four: Reborn”) is being produced by Akiva Goldsman from a screenplay written by Michael Green a co-writer of the upcoming “Green Lantern” and a former co-executive producer on “Heroes.”
