Robin Williams has let it be known ( to pretty much anyone that will listen) that he wants to play the Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie. There is no real concrete news here, I mean there is no secret meeting going on between director Christopher Nolan and Williams to suggest this could happen. No, in this case Williams is just petitioning to get himself the role, which for what its worth, I’d like to be in the next Batman movie as well.

I do however think that Williams could pull off the Riddler role surprisingly well. Now I know must fans will dismiss this notion pretty quick, but you must remember that Robin certainly could pull off a serious role. More importantly however, a veteran like Williams would not be intimidated to follow the monumental work that Heath Ledger did as the Joker. Williams has been promised various roles in Batman films in the past, only to have them slip away. He was promised the role of the Joker in the first Batman film, before the part was given to Jack Nicholson. Williams was also slated to play the Riddler the first time around, however the part was eventually given to Jim Carrey.
